Baked Beans Yankee Fashion

Take three pints of white beans, put them in cold water over night,
take them out in the morning, wash and rub them well,
then put them in a pot, and boil them until tender;
then put them in an earthen dish.

Cut a neat piece of pork, place it on the top of the beans;
bake them slowly until well browned.
This is a fine dish for a snowy day.
