Basic Cooking Directions for Grains

1. Put grains and water into saucepan.

2. Add 1/2 tsp salt (optional).

3. Cover pan and bring to boil over high heat.

4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for the time specified.

5. Take off heat and let stand covered for 5-10 minutes.

6. Fluff the grain before serving.


Note:

Buckwheat should be added to the water after it starts boiling. After adding the buckwheat,

cover the pan when the water returns to a boil.
